Terms and Conditions for Dog Training (UK)
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of dog training services by GreenDog Dog Training (“the Trainer”) to the client (“the Owner”). By booking or attending any training session, the Owner agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
2. Training Services
The Trainer provides professional dog training services designed to improve welfare, behaviour, and communication between dogs and their owners. All training is based on positive reinforcement and ethical, science-based methods.
3. Booking and Payment
- All training sessions must be booked in advance.
- Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Payments are non-refundable except as stated in Section 6 (Cancellations and Refunds).
- Prices are subject to change without prior notice, but confirmed bookings will not be affected.
- Payment can be made by bank transfer, card, or other approved methods.
4. Owner Responsibilities
- The Owner must ensure that their dog is fit, healthy, and fully vaccinated before attending training.
- The Owner must inform the Trainer of any known behavioural issues, allergies, or medical conditions prior to training.
- The Owner is responsible for their dog’s behaviour and safety at all times during training sessions.
- The Owner agrees to follow the Trainer’s guidance and to practise training exercises between sessions to achieve the best results.
- The Owner must comply with all UK laws relating to dog ownership, including the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
5. Trainer Responsibilities
- The Trainer will provide professional, ethical, and safe training services.
- The Trainer will use only positive, reward-based methods and will not use or condone harsh or punitive techniques.
- The Trainer will adhere to codes of practice set by PACT and the ABTC, of which they are members.
- The Trainer may refer Owners to other professionals if deemed appropriate ,within the guidelines of their code of conduct (PACT and ABTC)
- The Trainer will maintain confidentiality regarding the Owner’s personal information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
6. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before a scheduled session may be rescheduled without penalty.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before a session will result in the session fee being forfeited.
- No refunds will be issued for missed sessions or failure to attend.
- In the event the Trainer must cancel a session, it will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
- Block bookings or packages must be used within the agreed time frame; unused sessions will not be refunded.
7. Liability
- The Owner accepts full responsibility for their dog’s behaviour during and after training sessions.
- The Trainer is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage caused by the Owner’s dog before, during, or after training.
- The Trainer is not responsible for any injury or damage sustained by the Owner, their dog, or any third party during training sessions.
- The Owner is advised to have appropriate pet insurance that includes third-party liability cover.
8. Health and Safety
- Dogs showing signs of illness (e.g., coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea) must not attend training.
- The Trainer reserves the right to refuse participation to any dog deemed unfit, aggressive, or unsafe.
- The Trainer may refer Owners to other professionals if deemed appropriate, within the guidelines of their code of conduct (PACT and ABTC)
- Owners must keep dogs on a lead unless instructed otherwise by the Trainer.
- The Owner must clean up after their dog and dispose of waste responsibly.
9. Media and Privacy
- The Trainer may take photos or videos during sessions for training or promotional purposes.
- The Owner must notify the Trainer in writing if they do not consent to their dog being photographed or filmed.
- Personal data will be handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
10. Results and Guarantees
- Training outcomes depend on the Owner’s commitment, consistency, and the dog’s individual temperament.
- The Trainer cannot guarantee specific results but will provide professional guidance to achieve the best possible outcome.
- The Trainer may refer Owners to other professionals if deemed appropriate within the guidelines of their code of conduct ( PACT and ABTC)
11. Complaints
- Any complaints should be made in writing to the Trainer within 7 days of the issue arising.
- The Trainer will make every effort to resolve complaints promptly and fairly.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Acceptance
By booking or attending a training session with GreenDog Dog Training, the Owner acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
We reserve the right to update of Terms and Conditions.
